  the governing body took us along to an unusually high mountain, and showed us all the friends and family members that had been ripped away and they said to us.... .

  all these people we will give back to you if you fall down and do an act of worship to us.

  Flipping out at the meeting

  unfortunatley, i still go to many meetings as i am working on getting my wife to wake up.

  for the most part i maintain my composure but there have been two or three times when i actually have gotten so upset and the frustration built so high that i have come very come close to actually slamming something down or pounding the table in the literature room, or shouting out how i felt!

  has anyone else felt this way?

  Yeah, we tell it like it is!

  You're no angel either Sweetie. Even tho it wasn't your fault, I remember you ruining the brand new, light gray carpet in the KH while I was doing closing prayer, you started puking and made a nice trail all the way to the back bathroom. They never could get that stain out. Carpet had to be replaced.

  Now I know MOST of you are sitting there saying to yourself, "Who in the world are these people?"

  Believe me, we're not even scratching the surface yet. No wonder our family are all looney tunes.

  My wife [ Newly Enlightened] kind of flipped out night after one Thur night meeting...

  There was a man that started coming to the meetings [We found out later that he was a convicted child molester]. But he would get up from his seat and follow all the young little girls to the back and try to sneak a peak in the ladies bathroom. My daughter Gojira was about 10 yrs old at the time and my wife went with her everywhere because of this creep. He was also getting touchy-feelly' with the older sisters as well. The sisters all started complaining to the elders about him and they felt threatened. So one Thurs night, we were sitting in the back because I was running the sound booth. My wife got up with our daughter and went to the bathroom with her. He followed them. My wife told me later that she caught him standing there holding the woman's bathroom door open for them. My wife told him to go sit back down or she was going to yell at him.

  After the meeting he immediately came up and touched my wife's upper arm and asked what her problem was. OH GOOD LORD! She shoved him away from her and started yelling at him and making a rousing scene. The KH went deathly still and quiet while my wife reamed him a new one. The elders came up and tried to get me to calm my wife down and get control of her. After her several minute tirade, I loudly told the elders that if you had been doing your job of protecting the congregation it wouldn't have gotten this far! almost every sister in that hall applauded!

  The elders immediately hauled us in the back room and started to criticize her for the scene. We told them that after all the complaints the sister's have been making, that my wife was doing THEIR JOB that they should have been doing all along, PROTECTING THE CONGREGATION from perverts! They let us go, without even any more criticism. But after that, there was always an elder sitting or walking beside the creep. After a few meetings of that, he quit coming.

  apparently (i'm taking others' word for it) the watchtower publications are asserting that "apostates," i.e., those who have chosen to no longer be jehovah's witnesses, are "mentally diseased.

  " there are some important issues with this assertion.. first, they are not mental health professionals and in no position to diagnose mental illness.

  do they believe we all have the same "mental disease," or are there different diagnoses for different people who come to their senses?.

  Here is what the Complete Jewish Bible states in 1 Tim 6: 3-6:

Instead, he has a morbid desire for controversies and word-battles, out of which come jealousy, dissension, insults, evil suspicions, 5 and constant wrangling among people whose minds no longer function properly and who have been deprived of the truth, so that they imagine that religion is a road to riches. 6 Now true religion does bring great riches, but only to those who are content with what they have.

  Are the GB truly content with what they have? Doesn't appear so. What about the new country resort they're building in Warwick, NY? Then look how they're begging for more $$$ to bring the missionaries home. If I remember right, isn't it .13c per publisher? X 8,000,000 JW's = $1,040,000,000

  Why is it going to cost that amount to bring the missionaries home? DISGUSTING!

  So, who is the truly 'mentally diseased' ones? How is it, that 'apostates' are becoming rich over this entire debate? I don't see it. Where are the apostates 'HOLY ATM' machines?

  If you go back to look at the history of the WTBT$ Russell was proclaiming 'We do not need organization' it wasn't until Rutherfraud, who claimed we need organization to accomplish the preaching work. This is where the 'mental disease' began to grow and look at what it has blossomed into today. A multi-BILLION dollar world wide empire.

  I can imagine the GB 'toasting' to the fact that can do absolutely NOTHING in life while feeding off of the backs of lowly R&F. Blood suckers! hahahahahaha Sarcasm intended!

  Lost: Without getting into a debate about the Gentile Times, to answer your question. Since my wife & I were in the WTBT$ for 40+ years, we when we came out, we still believe in God, Jesus & the bible but we've had to re-examine religious dogma, beliefs and re-invent ourselves as Chritians. If you have not already done so, re-read the account at Acts 15: 1-23. There are actually 2 absolute laws and 2 conscience matters. To find the conscience matters go to 1 Cor 8: 1-12. Then ask yuorself, if this was a decision made by a so-called 1 st century governing body then why does Paul contradict and go against their decision?

  This is what we have elected not to do, continue to research from literature that is producing the lie, namely WTBT$. That would be like going to Satan and asking him for advice and expecting to get truth, it cannot be done. There are several resources available on line, outside of WTBT$.

  If you haven't read Ramond Franz's books yet, we highly recommend it.

  As regarding your post to my 607 conundrum I posted the page from the Interpreter's bible dictionary; regarding Ezekiel he did not even receive his commission as prophet until the year 598. We also watched a documentary that verified this, that is where we noticed the discrepancy that the WTBT$ was wrong about their 607 bce date. It was from the History Channel and called 'The Prophets'. So, it is pointless for God to commission Ezekiel 9 years after Jerusalem was destroyed. That would be like putting a condom on after you've already had sex. Pointless.

  I think you're both right. I can't tell you how many MS meetings where I heard loud & clear "We need brother's to reach out & qualify to serve as elders." That's what most of us tried to do but unless you're willing to sacrifice your principles & conscience it's NEVER gonna happen.

  at the hospital, mother inlaw fell and glasses cut her brow:(.

  so glag jehovah was watching and helping her...and all those who have come in after us.

  i was enjoying a fire outside and having a scotch then wam down on the floor she went...now we are in the emergency room.
